Cruckshanksia (Rubiaceae). Germination has been very low. C. hymenodon was given 4 w at 70 and then shifted to 40 whereupon 1/15 germ. in the 3rd w. The seedling was vigorous and developed a 2 inch radicle in a few days although three more weeks elapsed before the epicotyl had lengthened to one inch and the cotyledons expanded. A seed that germ. in the 4th w at 40 was weak and soon died. Seeds placed outdoors in October germ. 1/28 in April 18 m later.
