Worth knowing

  • Yuccoides means "like a yucca". It will not stand severe frost, yet it grows outdoors at Earlscliffe in Howth, near Dublin, at a latitude of 53.3° N, thanks to an unusually favorable microclimate. It holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Wikipedia: Beschorneria yuccoides
