Worth knowing

  • The amethyst hyacinth is a small bulb of the northern Pyrenees and north-east Spain. A record from the Kapela mountain in Croatia, made by Reichenbach in 1830, was probably a confusion with a Balkan Hyacinthella. Wikipedia: Brimeura amethystina
